It may take a month to feel completely up to speed. I am so glad it was benign. I like happy stories.
Cheers Alex
I am glad to hear it was benign! It is wise to take it easy. I hope you are feeling back to normal soon and that your normal menstrual cycle resumes.
Results in - a fibrothecoma. Thankfully benign. I realise how lucky I am.
The recovery is going very well and I almost feel back to normal. Although I have to keep reminding myself not to pick things up. That's the hardest part.
It took me a few days to get back to normal after taking the strong medications for the pain. I soon realised what they were numbing when I came off them but it could be remedied with Panadol every four hours.
I find that I'm still very tired and can't stay on my feet too long without feeling clammy and a bit nauseous. I am generally very fit and healthy and walk daily for fitness so feeling tired quickly is difficult to get used to. I keep telling myself to remember to take it easy as I don't want scarring to be an issue down the line.
For now I'm in the clear and so unbelievably grateful.
Recovery is going very well. Much better than I expected. Although I am taking it easy to avoid as much scar tissue as possible.
What a pity the doc decided to remove everything when the mass was benign. I was confident with my doctor but I am impatient in waiting for the results. However, I feel better having done a bit of research and hearing from others in the situation. I'm feeling very positive about the results. Fingers crossed.
You have less than a 2% chance it was cancer especially with a CA 125 being normal. Just on the far of chance it could be cancer the doctor has to not say it is benign until he or she has the test results.
Alex
Solid does not necessarily mean cancer especially if you don't have a family history of ovarian cancer. At age 49, I had a complex cyst (part solid, part fluid). A frozen section biopsy was done while I was in the operating room. It came back benign. My surgeon should have just sewn me back up and sent me to recovery. Instead he continued removing organs - my other ovary, uterus, and tubes. I have been suffering the many negative effects ever since. I have discovered that this is much more common than one would think. So you are lucky that your surgeon only removed the one ovary and your tubes.
I hope your recovery is going well and I hope the biopsy comes back negative / benign! Let us know what you find out.
