Hi KED00:
Sorry for the delay. Actually, I am pretty burnt out with my fertility. I have had bad reactions it seems to everything, clomid, metformin, Celexa (for the tremors from the clomid and it's after effects), parlodel, puregon injections, progesterone suppositories (yuck!)etc. I have had 5 IUI's and have been seeing my RE for 2 years straight. With this I don't have it in me to do IVF with everything else that has happened. I was getting to the point where I would just weep every time I had to take another pill which I knew would make me nauseated within a few hours. Day after day along with the chest pain from acid reflux made everything that much harder. Quality of life for infertile women can be dark.
Ok so that is enough of my sad story...
We have decided to adopt a child from China and it is the most freeing, healthy and uplifting decision I have made in about 3 years. I wish I could say things turn out the way you expect but sometimes they just turn out the way they should.
I hope your lap went ok, let me know.
All the best,
EKT
I had 2 endometriomas removed last year and I felt exactly as you did the days leading up to my laparoscopy. My fear and doctor's fear was that it was cancerous because my CA125 test was elevated (But it can be elevated for endo as well). My cysts were 10cm on the left and 6cm on the right. I would have cysts fill and rupture every 60 days so that might tell you how fast they actually can grow. Each time they ruptured I was in the hospital with some stays longer than others. After 3 years they finally did this lap. My doctor didn't need to do a laparotomy. He was able to drain them without major surgery which I was thankful for. It has been 18 months since my lap and they haven't returned which has been fantastic. The only down side is that we still aren't pregnant after 2.5 years. That is a whole other forum though.
Good Luck and you should be fine.
EKT
Thanks for the replies...
EKT - sounds like we have very similar situations. My cysts have not ruptured yet but I am fearful of that every day. Just a little over a week until my lap and I can't wait to get it over with and see where we are headed.I am glad to hear they were able to get yours out with just the laproscopy...I hope for the same!
What was your treatment after the lap? Did you have to go on Lupron? I really don't want to resort to that. Are you considering IVF?
Thanks again for your help : )
I had an endometrioma removed from my left ovary last December. It grew quickly. My doctor did a thorough exam in the spring, and the ovary appeared normal. When I developed symptoms in the fall, I was sent for an ultrasound. At that time, the endo cyst was approximately the size of a golf ball. When it was removed a few weeks later, it was the size of a large grapefruit.
