I was diagnosed with a simple cyst (2.5cm) on my left ovary about 5 months ago. This was found during an ultrasound to check size of fibroids. I am 57 and about 5 years menopausal so the dr was somewhat concerned. She suggested a repeat US in 6 weeks, which showed no change in the cyst. I also had a CA125, which was very low -- 4 or 5. I had another US after 2 months and again, it's still there but no change. At that point she said I could continue to watch it or have the surgery to remove my ovaries. Since the size of the cyst has remained the same over a 3-4 month period, should I be worried? I read things on the web and sometimes I feel like I might have some symptoms -- bloating, low back pain, but I've also had these symptoms before I ever had the cyst so I don't know. I'm going for another US next week. I'm wondering if it's just better to be safe than sorry and just go ahead with the surgery even if the cyst is not growing. Just wondering if anyone has seen something similar and it did in fact end up being cancer.
