One thing that I've seen folks do when they need support is set up a "care calendar". Basically you list some things you'll need help with (cleaning, food, childcare, etc) and folks who know you can sign up to help out some. It's an easy way to ask for and get appropriate help - lots of folks *want* to help but aren't sure what to do - this just makes it easier to get the support you need: http://www.carecalendar.org/
I'm guessing this time it won't be done laparoscopically but rather an open incision. There's a lot of information about this and each woman recovers differently. All I can say is have someone at home to help you the first few weeks. You're not going to be able to chase after a 4 year old.
