Dr says it looked bening need to wait for Pathology Report?

Hi everyone had surgery yesterday! 3.8cm cyst on ovary whole thing removed Dr. said it looked benign need to wait for Pathology report. Has anyone had that kind of response?  Have they ever said it looked benign then came back and said it's cancer?

Yes, I sure have.  That is a normal statement.  Alot of the time they can tell by looking at the tissue it's fine, but still have to send it to pathology to make sure.  I wouldn't worry to much.  My doc told me the same thing...everything looked normal and still went off to pathology.  Pretty routine.

Best of luck on a speedy recovery from your procedure!

Welcome.  The true dx will be made when the pathology is done.  Although your dr. thinks that it is benign (and it most likely is) you still need to get the path report to confirm it.  Good luck, you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed
