Sciatica and Cyst

dtc
Does anyone know if Sciatica is related to cysts or ov ca?
My mother was having terrible lower back/leg pains for a month or so.
An MRI revealed a pinched nerve and small cyst (5 cent which has grown to 7).
She finally recieved a cortisone shot for the pinched nerve and sent for her two US's which have led to her having her TAH hysterectomy on 4/4.
She is post-meno and I don't believe had had any abdomen/vaginal pain.
We still are praying and reading everyone else experiences.
thank you,
dtc

Welcome to the site.  Ovarian cysts can cause severe lower back and leg pain, mimicing sciatica.  They can also cause GI problems.  99% of ovarian cysts are benign.  You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

Hello. I have been experiencing Sciatica for about three months. I went to my family doctor who thought it had something to do with the ovaries. My u/s came back with thickened endometrium. I just had a D&C done in March for the endo problem. I am still having a lot of pain, so my family doctor ordered an MRI of the spine. I have two herniated disks. I got passed along to the Orthopaedic and now I am scheduled for surgery on April 25. I have been experiencing some pelvic pain for several days now, but my gyn said i am ok. I would go to the doctor and get checked out to see if they can figure out what is causing your pain. Best of wishes to you.
