cyst on ovary

hey, question about pcos and further questions
wondering about cyst being on one of my gf's ovaries and one ovary being larger than the other one..
the cyst(s) looks like beads, so was said to be PCOS. only 17 years old and has iron deficiency (anemia)
does having unprotected sex with one partner for long time and being on the pill for substantially long time about 8 months with always unprotected sex, can this cause this pcos to occur?
or is it just a straight up natural thing that occurs?
doctor also says come back in few years once matured more, but she already fairly mature, is this wrong and should it be looked at more, treatment etc...???

Since this is an ovarian cancer forum, it would be better to post this on the ovarian cyst forum or the women's health forum or maybe one that deals with sexual activity. Good luck.

personally i think no stone shoud ever be unturned ...  i am not an MD but i used to be a paramedic so i err on the side of caution
unprotected sex at young age can be a PID yikes ... does she have pain?
can she stand on one foot without collapsing in pain ?? go to ER immediately at your age to rule out PID or ectopic
beads is classic for polycystic ovaries but she really needs a PAP and culture to find out for sure ... her future reproductive health could depend on her being firm with her gyno and honest as well
Please young ladies ... make him wear a condomm or find a new girl :)  no guy is worth your health and if he doesnt understand he wasnt woth it anyways
good luck
