You sound exactly like me this past weekend. I wound up in the ER. A CT scan showed that I have a teratoma on each ovary. All the sudden, this makes sense. I've had severe abdominal pain lasting about an hour, about 5 times in the past 3 years. I've been borderline anemic more than once. I'm tired all the time. I've complained to docs before about my abdominal pain. One gave me Zantac, and the other said it was probably nothing.
Yoohoo, I'm growing teeth and hair inside my ovaries, yes there is a problem!!!
Anyway, I'm scouring over everybody's posts trying to figure out if I should have a hysterectomy or not. Have you considered this? Have you made an appt. to go see your doc again? If you're throwing up, couldn't that mean your ovary is twisted?
I just started my period today and all the pain is gone. All the sudden I don't want to go next Tuesday for my hysterectomy. But I guess I need to. The other option is for me to keep one ovary and my uterus, and get a D&C. But someone here said the D&C didn't help at all. Have you had one of those?
Yes i have had a d and c it is useless. And i have already had my uterus and cervix removed and i am schedualed to have a laparotomy done to remove the masses and my ovaries, the doctor scheduled my surgery as soon as my ultrasound was done..But i go through charity so ya have to wait in line..
When I told my doctor that something was wrong, pain, feeling like I'm going to throw up, tired, cranky and have gained 35lbs in the past year. All he said was you are in your 40's now. I have been the same size for 20 years, I don't overeat, I don't exercise like I should but I'm not a couch potatoe. When I went to my gyn he did an us and found the cysts. I hated being right in this instance but I knew something was wrong. Doctors need to start listening to us since we do know our body's better than they do.
Good luck...
