Some hernias are painful, some are not. I've had my lymph nodes in the groin swell a bit but they didn't particularly hurt. I just wondered why they were a bit larger than normal.
Being pregnant causes swelling in the abdomen as we all know but I've never heard of it causing a small lump on just one side. Even if it was a tubal pregnancy (those are painful), I doubt you would feel it with your hand. I had a 10 cm cyst (about the size of an orange) on my ovary and I didn't feel a lump on that side.
Again, if it flares up again, the best thing to do is have it checked out while it's there. I'm with you, I don't like to go to the doctor but sometimes we just have to.
Thanks! :) but if it was an inflamed lymph node wouldnt it of hurt same with a small hernia arnt those both painfull? could it mean I'm pregnate maybe? I took a cuple pregnacy test but they werent positive could it be just to early for pregnacy test? Also I have hypothiroidism could that be a reason for the swelling? I just dont want to go to my doctor if I dont have too.
Depends where it was. It may have been an inflamed lymph node due to some infection. Or it could be a small hernia. If it shows up again, it would be a good idea to see your doctor so you can find out what's going on.
