I agree that you should not worry.  Most cysts are not cancer.  (actually what I have heard is less than 1% of cysts are cancer.)  Your CA 125 is really not high.  If you said it was 1,000 or something like that I would be more concerned.

If the doctor says you should have surgery I would suggest a second opinion from a gynecological oncologist and if possible, have him perform the surgery.  It is always better to be safe than sorry!  I know it is hard to wait and see but odds are in your favor and worry gets you nowhere!!!  Come back to this site when you need info or have an answer from your doctor.  The ladies here are great!!!  Good luck!

Hi Scooby104,

Please try not to freak out. I realize this is easier said than done. Regarding the CA125, I don't know your age, but you cannot rely on this test alone. It is not always a good marker, as other factors can cause the level to flucuate. It is used when patients undergo chemo to measure whether the chemo is working. I am NOT a doctor but I have a mother with ovarian cancer.

You don't have all the information yet, try not to borrow trouble. I have 3 co-workers who have had to have tumors removed from their ovaries, not one of them had cancer. Just because they found something does NOT mean it's cancer.

I hope I have helped to put your mind at ease a little. Breath deeply. You will be okay, I know it!

Try and not think the worst.
