OMG, Stephanie, I'm so sorry to hear about your cancer spreading. Why haven't you been on chemo since June? I hope you have success with Topetocan, although I do hear it's rough on the body. I'm sorry your in pain...that must be awful. Hopefully you've got some good pain meds to help you out, but on the flipside, I'm sure you don't want to be drugged up all the time. I can't believe they have let your stent go that long without it being changed! You may want to mention this to your doctors. I only think that, because the Topetocan can drop your blood counts really low and you'll be at a high risk for infection. Chemo for me is going ok. My tumors aren't shrinking but they aren't growing either, so I guess I can't complain. I hope you can find some relief soon...keep in touch.
Becky
I have had a few UTI's since I have had my stent but nothing too serious. I have had the same one in since Dec 06 and apparently they are supposed to be changed every three months. What I do have is especially when I do not drink enough water it hurts in my back when I urinate. However if I drink lots of water it is not as bad. I have had about 4 UTI since Dec. My stent also hurts fairly often but this has been that way since it was inserted. I am sorry about your issues with the UTI. How is the chemo going? I have been off chemo since June and my cancer has spread all over my body. Lungs, liver, abdonmon, pelvis, it is causing me great pain. I start a new chemo topotecan on Monday. Hope you get better soon!!!
Stephanie
