Fantastic Debbie how thoughtfull and kind of you. It is so important to remember that family members suffer too. All to often children are forgotten - I know this from experience.

hi Anna,
I am so sorry for your loss. It must have been very hard for you.
It is sometimes very hard to know how much information to give to kids or how much to involve them, but I honestly think they need to know and be involved with the parents care and all.
There was a wonderful documentary on the DOC (documentary channel on DISH Network, not sure if you get that in the UK) about a 38 year old woman with breast cancer and it followed her through suregy, chemo and radiation therapy. She has young children, like 1 and 4 and she was quite remarkable with them. She showed them her false boobs, flat chest, wig and the works and the kids were so happy to be a part of mommy's care. Never a tear from the kids. It was a truly compelling story.
Take care.
I contacted the MedHelp Support and suggested they add a forum for kids whose parents have cancer and they said it was a great idea, so maybe we will see it soon.
