All oncologists are different but the average is about 3 weeks... Good luck.. Ronnii
Mine waited 6 weeks, long enough for a full recovery first.
Mine was around 6 weeks. Surgery June 16th. Chemo July 18th. I guess that is less than 6 wks. Chemo brain again!
My mom's oncologist started chemo 3 weeks after surgery.
I was scheduled to start chemo 3 weeks after my hysto and lab report confirmed it was OC.
I think it was 4 weeks for me. Same when I had surgery last oct, restarted in Nov..with chemo.
M ine ended up being 10 weeks. I had to heal my sternum to pubic bone incision that got infecions at various spots along it. I had blanket chemo during surgery so they weren't in a rush,I guess. I just completed my 3rd treatment today and am looking to get good results on CT scan and CA 125 tests next Thursday. The doc originally told me it would be 6 weeks till chemo started but he wanted my incision to fully heal.
I should add for other women.. that I had exploratory laparotomy then chemo then my debulking surgery... different ways for other countries...
Thanks for the feedback....I get more answers and information on here than I do from my oncologist!
As someone said, all Drs are different. I had 8 rounds of chemo first, then debulking surgery. 6 weeks after surgery I was put on maintenance chemo.
