Surgery is DONE.

dtc
After a LONG day in the hospital (15 hrs) My Mom's surgery is finished.
I can happily SCREAM she is in the 99% club. Cyst was biopsied and the surgeon said he is 99% certain she is cancer free.
She was lucky enough to be in one of the 3 hospitals in the country that has a specialist there on site to test while she was under the knife. Her TAH was a success. We really are blessed to be in a city that has AMAZING specialists and care. She is weak / tired but I could see the gleam in eyes when she was told the great news. Now, she has to recover from her surgery. If I have learned anything from this experience it is to not take your parents for granted ever. Also if you need help or advice ALWAYS ask for it and ASK LOT

Excellent!!!! Now do something nice for yourself! You are a great Daughter!

My daughter came the 1 1/2 hours to visit me the week before my surgery day. She went grocery shopping with me and wouldn't even let me lift a box of cereal! You girls are great.

And you are right...love your moms now. I lost mine 14 years ago and still wish I had her in my life.

Can I ask where you are?  I am having my cyst tested in pathology while I am in surgery as well.  I guess I thought that was the norm.  Anyway, he said once the cyst is out, he can know within a half hour whether it is cancer.  I live near Dayton, Ohio
