Surgery on Monday

Well, we'll know for sure what these cysts are on my ovary on Monday.  I saw the doctor today and scheduled the surgery.  Since my other ovary had to be removed and he'll most likely have to remove this one, I am just having a complete hysterectomy.  I have had prolonged bleeding and fibroids which have caused an elarged uterus.  I'm nervous and dread the surgery and recovery, but it hasn't been that long since I've had it done, so know what to expect.

I'm very comfortable with my doctor and know he will do a good job, I just hate being put under.

Best Wishes to all those having surgery.  I pray all goes well and you all have speedy recoveries.

Aretta

Hi - there - Well you are on the right track, I guess no surprises about surgery options right?   It's a reall smar choice and tomorrow I will be doing the same thing with the gyn/onc in HOnolulu.  No matter how much support and reassurances, it all boils down to "us" trusting our doctors, having faith, and just "going for it" and getting it all done with for good.  No more issues with ovaries and the uterus, thats how I am dealing with my issue with the ovary - I have not been to a specilaist like this one, so not sure where to start with the questions - we are all unique and every woman is individual, but we ride in the same boat.   When do you have your surgery?  Does he feel or do you want it done asap just to "get it over with or are you going to wait abit?"   Well we are all here for each other........in so many different ways.
Aloha, from Maui

I have a definite feeling he may just suggest surgery on the ovary, or perhaps wait for a second ultrasound - first one was only 2 weeks ago when they accidentally found the cyst....
