To all the wonderful women on this forum

I just wanted to tell all of you how amazed I am by your strength.  I read and follow quite a few of your stories...I cried when Marty lost her daughter, I've wondered where Teresa is and hoping she's feeling better, I pray that Donna is peacefully resting and not in any pain....just to mention a few.  What bothers me the most is that I'm reading the same things my mom went through thirteen years ago when this horrible disease took her life and stole her from me.  It makes me angry that it seems to have the same prognosis it had thirteen years ago!!  Why??  I know that there has to be a little more awarness of it then there was back then but what about the research?  I don't see it advertised all over the place like breast cancer is.  Anyways, love and prayers to all you.  God Bless.

crybaby,
Oh how right you are. Even though there has been a lot accomplished as far as cancer is concerned, ovarian cancer is one of those that not much has changed for in the last 20 some years. Yes, chemo has been made easier for us, and awareness is slowly showing up, but as far as research and changes in treatment, not much has changed.
I am glad that we have been able to help some. That is why we are all here, to help one another get through this. Marty is right, we are there to share laughs and also to share tears. Though we may not be doing well ourselves, we are always happy to see someone recieve good news.
I too have found this forum to be a godsend. The amount of love and support is overwhelming and I cherish the many friends I have made here. I only hope that I can give as much to others as I have recieved here.

Thank you for your concern for us,  yes there are sad times and yet there is a happiness that just kinda goes along with it all.  We are happy with the  things that happen along the way. A clean scan, NED  for 5 years or more, surgery that turns our better than expected.  I would hope that most of us look at the happy times,  Friends  that we care for , chats that we can have, help that we can give and just to know that someone is there when you need them the most. We all hope and pray for that lucky break, and it will come in its own time, that cure,  that will take all this away from women. It will be too late for some, but it will mean life too many.  The ones that have gone before will be cheering from heaven.  Love ya all so much, Marty
