Hi everyone,
My very awesome hubby (seriously, that man deserves an award), called my doctor today for me, but only got his nurse. He called to tell her that I thought I was bleeding from my bowels. Turns out that my period has started 6 days early.
Anyway, he mentioned to her that I am opting for a 2nd opinion. Not sure how they got on the subject of biopsy, but she said that I can get a biopsy done through my belly button. She also said that my regular gynecologist should be able to do it and that my doctor there (who is a gyn/oncologist) does not do them. WTH? So I told my hubby, from everything I have read, and been told here (thanks kcd86), that the mass must be removed INTACT, probably with the entire ovary.
She then told him that the doctor I am getting the 2nd opinion from and my doctor there actually know each other, and that they get patients coming from him all the time to my doctor there for a 2nd opinion.
Do you just ever feel screwed?
My gynecologist referred me out to this gyn/onc for a REASON. He is NOT going to touch this mass. He KNOWS that I am suppose to be in better hands with someone who specializes in these things.
One thing I found slightly comforting is that she said they will know more about this mass after my ultrasound on 11/5. Perhaps they will do one that indicates doppler flow to the mass?
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you all.
