hi Ann, I know it's frustrating.. it's obvious that the bowel needs to be emptied before the scans are really clear, but she did say that nothing jumped out at her and usually cysts or masses do show up pretty clearly. One thing I can update on myself is that I had so much pressure and pain last friday and saturday that I was in tears. My husband caught me crying and he said come on I'm taking you to the emergency room. I dont like going there because it takes them almost always 4 to 6 hours to see you. Anyway I went and the doctor on call said that the pain on my right side (lower abdomen) could be constipation or diverticulosis. I told him that I had had diarhea most of the day off and on. He said that didnt matter I could still be impacted somewhere along that side of my bowel. He took xrays of my abdomen and sure enough it showed my bowel was full of stool and partially obstructed. He told me to take magnesium acitate or something like that. A little green bottle to clean me out. Boy has it ever! The pressure I had is gone and the localized pain is better with only faint pain from time to time. I never realized that I was constipated or stopped up so to speak. I was greatly relieved. I only wish that everyone elses problems on here were that easy to solve. I will be praying for you Ann that everything gets taken care of and that whatever is wrong will be made clear so that you can get treatment. I still go back to my gyno doc next week to see what he says. I'm sure he will say that nothing was found that was cause for concern. But at least now I know that I have to eat more fiber and eat 3 meals a day, I had been skipping meals to lose weight and was taking lorazepam for anxiety and the doc said that any narcotic, tranquilizers etc.. caused the bowels to slow down. I can take an antihistamine(sp?) to help me sleep at night. Tylenol pm's have an histamine in them which causes drowsiness but I dont want the anacetaphetamine (sp?) because of my liver. Gee life gets really interesting when you turn 40 and 50... *sigh* God bless you!
I had exactly the same problem as you, but had 2 transvaginal ultra sounds, the second one with a laxitive but they still say my bowels blocked the ovaries.
I've been messing with this problem since July and have had a D&C which showed a lot of hemorrhagic tissue with a few endometrial gland and inflammatory cells, replaceing the stoma whatever that means.
Can anyone answer this one?
Then the two transvaginal ultra sounds one with fluid injection and then a hysteroscopy to remove a thyroid and haven't seen the lab report yet.
I too am wondering can a tran-vaginal ultra sound rule out ovarian cancer when they can't see the ovaries.
I am in the high risk category and have a lot of the symptoms.
I hope you can get some definite answers and keep me posted.
I see my gynecologist next week and he will review the tests with me. thanks so much for your input.
