Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I believe your procedure is being done today and I wish you well. To answer your questions, they took a needle biopsy right then, sent it to path, and I was upstairs to my Gyn/Onc. surgeon within the hour for results. Mine was recurrent OVCA, I was able to have a second surgery, which went well, as they were all small and localized. I finished my 6 rds. chemo in October and am on yrs.' maintenance. You are at a wonderful facility and I'm glad your able to get in so soon and get some answers. Good luck to you, and please keep usposted; you will be in my prayers. Judie :)
Oh, good luck to you! I did not have sedation, as it wasn't offered to me. Take it if you can! I'm not gonna lie, it hurt. Not the biopsy part, but the local freezing part. They had to freeze in three different areas and it stung badly. Don't rely to heavily on getting the answers you want from these biopsies - mine showed that "they are pretty sure it's not cancer" but it was and I wasn't diagnosed until after surgery. Hopefully you'll learn more about your situation than I did from this biopsy. Good luck,
Becky
Did they just drain your cysts, did they screen the fluid for cancer? I have a complex cystic mass that is 10 CM in size. I had an MRI yesterday, going to the aspiration procedure tomorrow. At first they told me they thought it was an abscess, but based on the MRI results my doctor told me to toss the antibiotics out. I'm starting to get concerned about cancer. He did a complete flip flop from the discussion we had last week.
I had needle aspiration biopsies done back in May on three small impants that were found. They put an IV in me and ran a very light sedation. I actually dosed, didn't feel a thing and it was over in a matter of minutes. I was up and about in about an hour or so. I actually got the results the same afternoon. Please try not to worry - easier said than done; but worry zaps you of your strength so much! Best wishes for good results; you will be in my prauers :) Judie
