Update on complex ovarian cyst

by jerseygirl0329, Jul 14, 2006 12:00AM
I reposted to my origianal posting but I didn't think that anyone would see it so I am posting a new update. Here is the latest update. I had the ultrasound which confimed that the cyst is a complex cyst but slightly smaller than thought on the CT scan. My gyn has ordered a CA-125 (on tuesday July 11th) and it still isn't back as of today July 14th. While I was in the office she said that it would be back in a day. Go figure. I have an appt on tuesday July 18th to discuss surgery options.
Oh and also my ovary is enlarged too.
To answer the question about my right ovary, I used to just have simple cysts on my right ovary. It always caused me a lot of pain too. So, when I had to have the hysterectomy due to adenomyosis, I just had the right ovary removed too. I never had problems with the left ovary. I also have never had a complex cyst or a cyst bigger than 1 cm in the past.
Again thanks!
For those that didn't see my original post I will add some info. My Aunt died from ovarian cancer. I recently had lost 35 lbs in a few short months and then I gained it all within 3 weeks. I have been having a bloating feeling and LRQ pain which they thought was appendicitis. I also had a coloscopy due to recurrent bouts of diahrrea (since my hyster. last year). I also feel tired all the time.

Melissa,
I am sorry that you are having such problems.  I too had a complex cyst removed in April.  Now I have another cyst due to Ovarian Remnant Syndrome.  Stay strong, and know that we are here for you.  kasie

I forgot to mention that on the results of the ultrasound it says that the complex cyst is within the ovary and not on the ovary. I went back and read my ct scan and that says in also. I don't know if that makes a difference.
