Thank you for your response.  Yes, she is and has been on so many different chemos and I don't know the name of them all.  At this time she is on a pill form but it is no longer effective and they are getting ready to try something else.  She has had so many surgeries that scar tissue blockage is a def. possiblity....but, I also think it is the cancer itself as you mentioned. I lost my husband 3 + yrs. ago.....short version---so many surgeries, the intestional blockage is what finally took its toll and him.  I pray this is not so with my friend.  I also pray for healing for you.  ann

Residual cancer is cancer cells that remain after surgery and/or chemo for the original cancer diagnisis. Is she currently on chemo? It sounds like she may have an intestial blockage, which could be caused by a twisted or pinched intestine, or actual cancer cells in the intestines. Possibly they can allieviate the blockage without surgery. I had a blockage last fall caused by an adhesion from the original surgery twisting my lower intestine. I hope she gets better soon. Let us know.  Donna
