Could an Ovarnian Mass affect Hormone Levels?

Does anyone know whether or not an ovarian mass would affect hormone levels?  Lately (on and off) 've been feeling a bit down, up and down, somewhat depressed..menopausal of sorts, but not certain as I haven't had my levels checked.  I'm 42 years old.  Perhaps perimenopause?  I'm scheduled to have mass and ovaries removed in a few weeks.... if that's not depressing enough!

Definatly the mass messes with the hormones. In 2004, I had a nervous breakdown after my father, a police officer was killed. Been struggling with anxiety, depression, fatigue, weight gain and so many things since. Last July, I had a total hystarectomy for cancer in both ovaries. I feel like a new person. Better moods, more patience, no water retaining and so much more. I actually cut down on my meds. I tell people out of fun that every woman should have their innereds removed. I was 43 when this was done. Dont be depressed about the surgery cause I feel you will be so much better in the long run.. Good Luck..Rox

Hershey,
I know that having a hysterectomy is depressing. I am not sure whether the ovarian mass could lower hormone levels, but I would think that it could at least screw them up a bit. I do know that your surgery will have a profound effect on them so you mihgt want to talk to your Dr ahead of time to see if there is anything you can do for afterwards.
  Good Luck,
