Watch and wait?

I have bilateral, 10cm, fluid filled cysts on my ovaries. I have the option to have surgery or take the birth control pill and watch the cysts for the next 3 to 6 months. I would prefer the watch and wait approach. Has anyone tried this with success?

I have been watching an multi-septated complex hemorrhagic cyst without total resolution for 4 years now  ....it went down to 5cms from 9.8cms and remained that size for almost 2 years but as of June this year (year 4) it had enlarged again, this time to 11cms.
Though my Gyn/Onc (from the Huntsman Cancer Institue)has said it is safe to keep watching, I have opted to have it removed as soon as I can take some time off.
As long as you and your doctor feel comfortable "watching and waiting", I see no reason not too, most fluid filled cysts do resolve...I have had at least 6 complex ones resolve eventually.

Unfortunately with my age and the cyst I have now, the anxiety every year around exam time is getting to be too great for me.

Best wishes to you!!

When i was on infertility drugs i got a lot of Fluid filled cysts.  The BCPS did help those and it took about 4 months for the cysts to go away. (this was appx 7 years ago)

Hope this helps!
