Hi, Everybody,
I've been waiting for my second opinoin, regarding a persistent ovarian cyst. My gyn wanted to watch and wait, the gyn/onc recommended a Total Hysterectomy. I also have Protein C deficiency, a blood clotting disorder, for which I take Coumadin.
Now, I've had another issue arise, which is that I passed out last weekend. Blacked out, and fell down, after dinner and a few drinks. (yes, thought alcohol might be the culprit, but never 'fainted' like this before) Anyway, I went into the Dr., who ordered a CT brain scan. While this showed no hemorrhage, or other problems with my brain, it did show that the lump I discovered on my head is what they're calling an 'osteoma'. Looking this up, it states, 'benign bone tumor'. The report said they should follow up with a nuclear medicine bone scan, if this isn't a long-standing growth. (I only discovered it after I fell, so don't think it's long-standing.) So, now, tomorrow I'm going for the bone scan. Dr. states she doesn't think it's related to the cyst, since 'there's no indication the cysts are malignant'. However, the scan is to rule out cancer, or infection, so I'm really freaking out!!
Has anyone heard of others with ovarian cysts developing bone tumors on the skull??
I know I'll have to wait for the results, but youguys are so knowledgable, I thought I'd see if anyone had any experience with this. I'm so tired of doctors!
