Weight Issue

Did anyone lose weight with their ovarian cysts?  I don't know if it's because I'm eating less or get full faster or is it just a change in metabolism.  I never thought it would make me nervouse to hear "you look like you're losing weight".  I have 2 cysts, complex. I'm postmenopausal. Just went for my CA125.  I see my Dr. again Monday.

That was the first question on the form I had to fill out for the gyn/onc.  I have lost more than 30lbs since July, keeping in mind that I have tried dieting to lose a few pound s previously without any success.

I lost weight at first, about 7lbs, but I think it was more to do with worry than anything sinister.  I still have the cysts, but my appetite has returned.  I do have gastro issues, I think because the cyst sits in a spot that sometimes gets in the way of my intestine.

I actually normally eat alot too, I snack all day and eat pretty well for lunch and dinner.  It is odd for me to finish a meal, and as I said I either don't eat or I barely eat anything now.  Good luck with your blood work, remember though that high CA125 results could be something other than cancer.  Keep your spirits up, I'll be thinking about you and praying for you.

Thanks for the responses!  My Husband just commented that I'm not eating much.  That's very unusual for me.. I've always been chunky with a good appetite.  I did notice this morning on the scale that my weight is down and a few people have mentioned it.
I have 2 complex cysts but I think I'm okay and just waiting 3 mos for my next US.  I did go for a CA125 today and if it's high, I am not waiting around.  My life is pretty good and I'm always waiting for the next shoe to drop.  I'm too afraid that this is it.  I've been a volunteer at ACS for years and one thing I know is that almost everything is curable if it's caught early but we ignore signs.  I'm going to be agressive  about this.

I'm 35, and when I mentioned it my Gyn. she didn't seem too concerned either.  She also knows that I gave up drinking 2 1/2 months ago and says that could by why I am losing weight.  I never really drank alot but when I did I got out of hand so I decided not to anymore. If that were the case I think that I would have began losing the weight immediately after I stopped drinking.  The weight, loss of apetitite, fullness, etc. has only happened since I began feeling the pain on my right side.  The Cat Scan showed no other problems just the cyst.

Funny you should say that...I just finished having a conversation about that same thing.  I have a 5cm simple cyst, which I noticed about over a month ago.  I was just diagnosed and was told to wait a month and have another Ultra Sound in a month.  In the past month I have lost 6 lbs, I don't have an appetite because most of the time I feel nauseas.  Most days I don't eat at all I just drink water and Juice, lately I have been making myself eat something.  When I eat, I get full quickly or I need to use the bathroom quickly because everything goes through me.  Which then makes me not want to eat again.  I too never thought that I would worry when people asked "Are you trying to lose weight?"
