Dear Mary Jane,
I read your comment about your clear cell ovarian cancer.
I just wanted to post some information that you may find
interesting and could talk with your doctor about.
A Dr. Daniel Cramer and his associates at Havard University published
a possible clue about ovarian cancer - He states that some
people do not make enough of an enzyme called GALT which
digest the milk sugar called galactose in dairy and it goes to
the ovaries. Please do a internet search : Daniel Cramer
Ovarian Cancer. In another article in the Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention - January 2000 - they state that women
with
Clear cell types of ovairan cancer were more likely to carry
the N314D polymorphis of the GALT gene, generally predisposing them to
lower GAlt. They conclued by stating "certain genetic or biochemical features of galactose metabolism may influence disease risk for particlular types of ovarian cancer."
I also read in an article that Beta-carotene
like in carrot juice can break down these deposits in the ovaries.
I also really like the www.cancertutor.com website.
You know the book YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS by Jane Plant - is
about how she cured her breast cancer by not eating dairy.
Just food for thought - something you could talk to
your doctor about, I am not making any suggestion.
Love and prayers,
Mary
Thank you for your respond; i only wish you were a little bit more direct ,insted of keeping in the standard regime for treating ovariancancer. Example we all know 1st-line standard chemo taxol/cisplatnium;followed by either doxil or topotecan and than followed with whatever gembitine etc. which we all know do not direct advance sub type cell ovarian cancer. I t really is to bad that so many professional minds go by the same script; I believe we are all missing the boat, particularly the patient.
More work needs to be done towards advance ovarian cancer not just studying the earlier stages when ther are so many women with advance;and the reality we all know is not that great.
American Cancer Society celebrates evcery month for breast , prostrate etc. but never for ovarian cancer; I ask myself why and I ask why do famous people state in the orbituary column they died of cancer but your local paper rarely implies; I think people should know whats the big secret, when all of us know someone and wish there was acure or vaccine for all cancers.
Thats all folks!!

Again thanks for your responds.
