Hi Diana and welcome!  It really sucks that you have has such the run around!  I am glad that the gyn/onc is doing the surgery.  As Dian stated, they have the most experience in this type of thing.  I will be praying for you.  Please keep us posted.  Kasie

Hello there, diana...what is your gyn/onc going to do? A laparoscopy, yes, but what is he going to do if the pathology comes back malignant....will he remove everything..what will he do if you are still wanting more children....what are your options here....how long will the procedure take....will he do a laparotomy if he needs to see more of what's going on......will he consult with a family member during surgery if there are surprises....just a few of the questions I would ask.  I am certain once you get in there you will have all kinds of questions...no questions are stupid....it would be wise to either take another person in with you or record your conversation so you have some way to review all that was said. It is really good you are dealing with a gyn/oncologist...that is a very smart move as he offers the most expertise.  I look forward to hearing from you.
Peace.

I was tossed around a couple of times too and still am going through it.  One thing that  I did learn and am glad I asked was when i first went to the GYN he said that i had endo 95% positive.  I left it at that and scheduled my surgery.  After being on here i was sleepless and needed answers so i went back to the GYN.  I asked him some questions and he was very defensive about the questions i was asking like "what is a complex mass, cystic mass, or and endometrioma?  and he told me that I didnt need to know that.  And I was like yea i do its on my us.  It also stated that i should get a ct scan and other follow up work in the next couple of weeks but he refused and told me i wasnt even ready for surgery.  wow!

I asked him what would have to happen to change a laproscopic surgery to laparotomy and he said that wouldnt happen because they would do what they had to do and schedule another sugery a few months later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was like hell no.  I am a single mother and i cant afford that much time off work.  I need the doctor to know what he is doing and take what needs to be taken.  So for me that question was the most important.  I would be on the RS right now.

I chose to see someone else.  And sometimes i wish that I let him do it to get this over with but I am glad i never did because i could tell he had no idea what he was doing.  A good doctor lets you ask as many questions as you want without being defensive.  So i would asked anything and everything.

K so i porobably went off topic here, sorry :(

Good luck

Angela
