When will I start for feel better

I had surgery april 3rd and had a cyst and both ovaries out-I'm 54. I had such pain in the left side in December I couldn't move for over 10 minutes.  I had slight pain until my surgery .  I have not gotten the results from the biopsy yet and the waiting is so stressful.  It's been over a week and I am still very sore.  I feel like I'm carry around a basketball.  The surgeon said he removed scar tissue from previous surgeries (uterus removed when I was 30, vaginal prolapse in '03, .  I am a teacher and not sure if I will be able to return to school on the 24th.  When will I start to feel better.  Having a pacemaker and taking pain medication is making my blodd pressure and heart rate drop.  I so discouraged.  Kah22

I felt a little better yesterday so I went to a local store to get out of the house for awhile. Bad idea- I walked around slowly for about 45 minutes.  I was so exhausted when I got home I went to bed and slept for 4 hours!!!  I am so sore today, one of the stitches is hanging out of one of my incisions. I think I rushed - now I have a set back- I am so down today- I usually so active- I hate this!!  I am thrilled about my report- but just have to find something else to worry about. I drive myself crazy  Kathy

I had laproscopic surgery on April 3rd- the doctor called me last night NO CANCER!  He said I was very lucky since I also had a small tumor!!!! Going to be 54 soon- and with my family history I guess I am lucky.  Maybe I wouldn't be so sore if I weighed 125lbs. I'm not that overweight,  but I guess there was too much fat to go through. Who knows- thanks for all the support I'm so glad I found this forum.  Now I have to find someone who has been diagnosed with polycystic liver disease and neurocardiogenic syncopy (w/pacemaker).  The blood pressure and heart rate drops are awful!!! The day after surgery I was given pain meds by BP went 50/40 and my heartrate was 42 !!!!  My surgeon would only operate in the hospital with my cardiologist! thank God he did!!!!

I had laproscopy surgery- got the report yesterday NO CANCER - going to be 54 in two weeks- I was so certain it was cancer, since my mom had breast cancer and my dad brain cancer.  I am my own worst enemy.  I still feel so tired and sore.  I have to stop thinking I'll be able to back to work on the 24th. I'm going back to my doctor next wednesday.

After reading some of the comments about going back to work a week after laproscopic surgery I couldnt believe it!  I certainly am not bouncing back- you're right it's probably the age.  I called my doctor again and the pathology report isn't back yet.Waiting is awful.  thanks for the advice - I'm rushing myself to get back to work since I've used most of my sick days from school.  Could never go back teaching the way I feel right now! Hang in there girl - you've just had surgery.  Everyone heals differently and for heaven's sake, please take the time you need to fully recovery.  I can't recall, did you have a laparotomy or a laparoscopy.  I had the latter three weeks ago and it certainly took the two weeks before I was fully recovered.  Even now, I am careful not to lift anything too heavy.  We're hanging in there with you and hope that you feel better very soon.  Spicegirl

It is going to take a while for your body to heal, so please give it time.  The 2 - 3 weeks recovery time that the dr. gives you is just the time it takes for your body to get over the stress of the anestesia and invasion of the surgery.  Actually healing time can be anywhere from 3 months to a year.  Please take it slowly as you do not want any setbacks.  Your body will tell you if you have done too much (pain and fatique set in).  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed
