Thank you,
Seems like there are a lot of brave people on this site! We have surgery this Tuesday morning. I will update later....still very scared...but that is life I guess.
Dian said everything right!! It is best to have a gyn/onc and it doesn't mean that automatically they think the cyst is cancerous. It must be hard and uncomfortable to have that catheter in! I will keep you all in my prayers and hope to hear good news soon!
Yes....it could be benign. You were referred to a gyn/onc because that is the person most skilled in female reproductive surgeries.....YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.....in that regard your primary is doing exactly the right thing for her. Still, I can't imagine she will have to wait two weeks to be seen! That's crazy ! I would push to get in to see someone earlier.....there's got to be someone else to see....or, maybe if the gyn/onc you are scheduled to see knew of the cath situation she would be seen earlier. You need to know that 95 - 98% of all growths are benign. Remind yourself and your wife of that fact on a regular basis. Even if it is malignant this is something she can deal with....still, don't borrow trouble. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best ! Please do deep us posted! We are here for you and your wife....waiting is hard.
Peace.
