abdominal swelling and pain after hysterectomy

I had a clomid pregnancy two years ago. Four months after the birth of my twins I had a hysterectomy with ovarian preservation due to heavy bleeding. I had severe post op complications that kept me hospitalized for quite awhile (pelvic hematoma). Since the hematoma resolved I have gained weight and have abdominal bloating and pain, both urinary and bowel habits have also changed, this is accompanied by occcassional vaginal spotting. I had two ruptured ovarian cysts and was put on lupron for six months to supress ovulation, the symptoms remained the same, including one rupture after the lupron was discontinued. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there any suggestions. I recently moved and dont have a new gyn yet.

I had similar problems of yours.  I too had a hysterectomy due to bleeding and I too developed a hematoma after surgery requiring a long hospital stay.  It has been over a year now for me and I have gained almost 40 lbs since my surgery. I am extremely fatigued all the time and feel like **** all the time.  I hate to say this but I believe that life after a hysterectomy is not fun at all and I have been to several doctors and NONE of them have helped me.  Good luck.

I feel like I am back on a merry go round that is going too fast. Well thanx for letting me vent

Thank you. I dont have new gyn yet. Although was discouraged to have surgery due to the excessive bleeding with hysterectomy. I am going to call insurance and see what gyns are in area. Almost afraid of what they will do to me

I know someone who had a similar experience to yours, and she decided to just have her ovaries removed and so end her suffering. After her surgery, her doctor told her that scar tissues     from previous procedures had complicated her health, and that he believed she had made the correct choice.  But that is not to say it is the correct choice for you!

Do you see a 'regular' gyn, or do you have  annual exams and treatments from a fertility specialist?  A specialist might have more advice to offer regarding your post-birth experiences.
