Fran Drescher "The Nanny" had endometrial cancer and yes she was blown off and bounced around like many women with gyn cancers or serious problems. (I guess women are just supposed to "suck it up" and "suffer in silence".......whatever...)
She is a huge advocate for all gyn cancer awareness now:

Thank you for your response.
I guess if even doctors, PA's and Nurses are not aware of what to look out for , how to test for OC , etc how can we as women know.
But knowledge is power and groups like this one help others to get to know their own and pay attention.
Wasn't it that lady Fran ? who played on The Nanny who had OC and she went from doctor to doctor before finding out what she had.
And I believe this was years ago and still today we don't know what to do for women and how to test and find this in the early stages.
Just wish can find out for sure what is wrong with me want to get on the road to recovery and have a name for it and then deal with it.
The CA125 test is not completly useless, its accuracy is around 50% and is used as a marker for those that show a build up in the protein after dx, it is a less evasive way to mark progress or recurrance, altho along with the scans which are more important. Leslee has more CA125s run than scans, As far as the PA telling you that it is useless, I would not agree, it does find its share of OVCA and leads the doctors to order more telling tests. You do not have to have OVCA to have an elevated CA125, and also some with OVCA do not have the elevation either. Here again is the need for all women to be educated in the symptoms and be aware of the proper tests to rule out OVCA or to catch it early.
