Possible Ovarian Cancer

I have had the following symptoms going on 5 months:

Weight loss: 16lbs
Left abdominal pain
Burning sensation across lower abdomen
Lower back pain that radiates to butt and back of thighs
Diarrhea most of the time but sometimes switches to constipation
Pain during sex
Gas
Abdomenal bloating
Elevated temperature

I have had the following tests performed:

Upper GI/Small Bowel- normal
Colonoscopy- normal
CT- showed ovarian cyst/mass, fluid in pelvis, cyst on spleen and kidney

Do the symptoms I am exhibiting suggest just a simple cyst or does this sound like possible ovarian cancer?

I knew my gyno would act fast.  She has scheduled me for an ultrasound tomorrow instead of waiting the 6 weeks as suggested by the radiologist.

Thank you everyone for your comments and I will definitely follow-up with a gynonc if I have to have surgery.  Hopefully it is nothing.  I have my fingers crossed.

These symptoms can be caused by a cyst OR ovarian cancer so you should see your gyn and ask for further testing - probably a transvaginal ultrasound.  Most cysts are benign but you really need to make sure that yours is because of your symptoms.

I had almost all of the symptoms you described, and the first two tests you had also came back normal for me.  The TVU showed multiple cysts so the ovary was removed - my gyn suspected cancer because of the shape of the cells even though my CA-125 was low.  If there is any suspicion on your gyn's part that it might be malignant PLEASE see a gyn/oncologist before any surgery. I didn't know to do that.  I ended up having to go back for a second surgery to remove everything else and have biopsies, etc.  You want to avoid that if you can. Please call your gyn for an appointment asap and go from there. Keep us posted.  Best wishes, Chris P

I can imagine you are pretty scared right now.  You need to continue your search to determine what is going on.  Cysts, whether benign or not, present the same symptoms.  There is only one way to determine if a cyst is malignant....that is by biopsy.  Is your medical team discussing surgery?  Have you been seen by a gyn/oncoogist?  If not, you should get a referral or make your own appointment.  You absolutely need to be seen by a gyn /oncologist as they are the ones with the additional training and you need their expertise during surgery.  YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.....make certain you have a gyn/oncologist at your side during surgery.
Please do keep us posted.
Peace.
