I agree with Susie. Try to relax and keep a positive attitude for your mom. She needs to remain as positive as she can, since stress will feed the cancer. Chemo is toxic, and has a long shelf-life. Best of luck, D
Hi,
The bad news is that chemotherapy stays in your system for up to two years.
The good news is that chemotherapy stays in your system for up to two years!
It's most likely still in your mom's system, killing all the cancer buggers. Yes, it's probably best to be able to have all your chemo treatments on time, but it's much more important not to have a bowel obstruction! There have even been studies recently to see whether 4 chemo treatments are just as good as 6 treatments. So, what I'm really saying is not to worry about the interruption in your mom's schedule.
Best of luck to your mom.

Leon,
All you can do is monitor her CA125 numbers if her CA125 was a good indicator the first time around. If there is a trend of increasing CA125 they might want her to get a PET/CT to see if there is any new growth.
Every oncologist has a different approach. Some might put you on chemo even if there is no evidence of growth but a trend of increasing CA125 and others might wait and watch until something shows up on her scans.
