Enlarged lumph nodes in abdomen

I went to the emergency room about 2 weeks ago and the doctor told me that I have a few enlarged lymph nodes in my abdomen area.  The doctor told me that I have one above my uterus and one by my intestine.  He referred me to an OBGYN and I go to that doctor in 2 weeks.  I have had abdominal pain off and on and it hurts when I go to the restroom.  When the pain first started I was not sick and no symptoms of anything, and then one morning I woke up and I was in alot of pain.  I have never had kids and I want to know will I be able to and why do lymph nodes form in the abdomen?

Were these enlarged lymph nodes found by a Cat Scan? How did your ovaries look? We all have a lot of lymph nodes in the abdominal area. The lymph nodes are trying to fight off something if they are enlarged. Be persistent on finding out what the problem is. If you are worried about Ovarian cancer demand a CA125 test. Best of luck and let us know what happens.

Hello there....you need to take this one step at a time....if there is to be surgery and you are concerned about having children in the future you need to have a gyn/oncologist perform your surgery.  They are the specialists when it comes to women's reproductive tract issues....after you see your gyn you might ask for a consult with a gyn/onc.....it would be a good idea.  Keep us posted.
Peace.
