complex solid mass on ovary cancerous???

I have a 3.5x3.5x4.2 cm complex solid mass in the right adnexia. I am 47 years old and a little confused about the complex solid part of the diagnosis. Doesnt complex mean its part cystic to? They also said that a neoplastic process cannot be excluded, what does that mean? My CA 125 came out to 10 which is normal. I know that these arent always accurate but is this a really good sign? What are the chances that this could be cancerous? The report also said that this was a echogenicity mass with increased vascular flow with a small amount of adjacent free fluid. All these medical terms are diving me crazy. please help, im scared!

i also wanted to add that i've been in a lot of pain. for about a week now it has been really hurting, along with bloating, ive been taking pain killers but once that wears off its back to the very bad side pain where the mass is. Also their is a small cyst on the other ovary that is starting to hurt. Should i be worrying about that one to? One more question I have is about the surgery. If th gyn/onc goes in and sees that its cancer and trys to remove as much of it as possible, then why is it that you don't find the results of it for weeks after the surgery, don't they aready know if it is benign or not.

if you have the time please read and answer if you have any info,, again im really scared it could be cancer, although the posts and comments on this forum are very helpful and comforting

I don't have any answers, but I'm like you--I just found out I have an ovarian cyst and I'm 52.  Everything I have read says that it's worse if you are menopausal.  From what I have read, complex mass means it has more than just fluid in them.  I know it's maddening trying to find information on the internet, but this website seems to be a lot of help.  What tests have they ran on you?  I've had an MRI, but now they are going to do some internal ultrasound and I don't understand what that is going to tell them that the MRI didn't.  From what I've read about the blood test you had, 10 sounds pretty good.

99% of all cysts/tumors are benign,  When you do have the surgery it does not take weeks to learn the results,  most doctors on visulizing a tumor can tell if it is supecious of cancer, sometimes a frozen section is done immediatly to confirm or deny cancer. No diagnosis of cancer can be made without a path report on removed tissue or fluid. The size of your cyst is small, usually they do not do surgery till they measure at least 5 cm,  Did you have a transvaginal scan,  that is an internal scan, a colonoscopy is sometimes ordered also,  yes, your CA125 is normal but it is not creditable,  but also is not an indicator alone for surgery.  Take into account also  family history of cancer,  had your children before 30, hormone therapy, Birth control pills.  Cysts do mask the symptoms of OVCA, so it is best to find out early , but remember OVCA is rare.
