My oncologist told me a small increase in the CA125 was okay but if it doubled we would be concerned. I certainly wouldn't wait two months to find out what is going on....the sooner it is confronted the better.
Peace.

Dear annepl,
I am very sorry that you are dealing with this disease. I was dx with ovarian cancer 3/06, stage 3c, grade 3. Are you seeing a gyn oncologist? I've been told by my doctor that inflammation could be the cause of the rise when surgery such as yours has been done. Usually when your CA125 starts to rise and you have been diagnosed with cancer in the past it is a recurrence. That happened in my case. Can you be tested sooner than June? Are you having any symptoms? Also, has your doctor scheduled a CT scan? When mine was rising (doubling) a CT scan was ordered and came back clear. A PET CT was then ordered and came back showing where the cancer had returned. Your number seems to be doubling and maybe a call back to the doctor asking him why he considers doing another CA125 test a precaution? You may be able to catch this early. Please keep us posted! Cindy
I was told any inflammation can cause an elevation. Still, I would want to be tested before June. Mine are still done monthly. I would ask. Better to be safe. I wish you the best. Marie
