constant nausea - worried

For over four weeks now, I have been having almost constant nausea.  It's an odd feeling because it's in my stomach, but I can also feel it in my chest and throat.  If I cough, my gag reflex goes crazy.  I've only thrown up twice, and both times it was from coughing.  When I first eat, I feel good for a while, but then the feeling comes again.  About 3 1/2 years ago, I was having problems with anemia (from heavy menstrual flow due to fibroids) and acid reflux.  I had all the usual tests.  They didn't really find anything but a small hiatal hernia, but put me on Aciphex and iron for several months and things went back to normal.  When the nausea started I thought maybe it was something similar.  My doc agreed and put me back on Aciphex, iron and other changes.  Nothing is working.  Looking to the internet for some answers, I've come across persistent nausea and indigestion as an early warning sign of ovarian cancer several times.  I have to change gynos because of a change of insurance and can't get in for several weeks.  I'm so worried in the meatime that I can't concentrate.  The only other symptom I have is slight abdominal pain.  It is in an area where I know I have a large fibroid and I noticed it during my cycle, so that may be the reason.  Can anyone that had nausea and indigestion as an early sign of ovarian cancer let me know if my story sounds at all familiar.  Thanks you so much.

I agree with msjazz that it sounds like an Upper GI problem, I would go see a GI doctor as soon as possible and have all the tests run to find out the problem.  some Upper GI problems can be quite serious and the sooner they are taken care of the better. Antacids will usually only help for a short time, a hiatal hernia can get bigger and the small intestion can herniate.  good Luck  and keep us posted  marty

It sounds more like a gastro intestinal problem, but there are a lot of possibilites with those symptoms. Is it possible the fibroid is pressing on your intestine causing a partial blockage? Can the dr. that re-prescribed the reflux medicine do a ct or ultrasound on the fibroid, or was he the gynecologist? Try not to think the worst, but get checked out for things as soon as possible.
