hysterectomy

I hope this does not sound as crazy as I am feeling lately. I am new to all of this and am so confused and consumed by it I sometimes wonder if a hysterectomy would be a easier way then dealing with trying to figure out what is wrong and in what area and waiting to see if it could be cancer or turn into cancer and when. For me it seems alot less scary to get a hysterectomy and go into menapause then trying to constantly make myself crazy with appointments and playing the what if game. Just looking for some opinions. I probably just needed to vent also.

Don't sweat it S13, we were both just sharing our own experiences and, like I said before, that's what the site is about.  MV

Please, please, please understand that anything I may give as advice or an opinion to ladies on this forum are not in any way intended to hurt you (or anyone else for that matter).  I respect the right to opinions & the right to disagree.  If I feel that another's statement is misinforming a question, please don't take it the wrong way.  If I had a question & knew that you were very well informed (from whatever resource), I wouldn't hesitate to seek advice & opinions from you.  I look forward to this forum & to your bubbly upbeat personality.  Thank you for taking the time to read my posts & be open minded.  Peace!

Yes, more info. would be helpful.  DON'T rush into a hysterectomy blindly.  If your drs. are doing everything possible to entertain NONINVASIVE treatment, testing, etc...LET THEM!  As long as they aren't dismissing you & are trying to find the diagnosis, BE PATIENT.  I had a hysterectomy at 24 yrs. old, then my ovaries removed a few short yrs. later.  I have no reproductive organs left & already had 1 laparotomy (post surgical menopause) w/ Cancer scare.  I'm now going through a similar situation w/ the possibility of Cancer.  Removing your reproductive organs will not take away the possibility of Cancer later in life.  Unless you are aware of the changes your body (& life for that matter) will undergo, don't contemplate a hysterectomy as an easy way out - IT ISN'T.  Do yourself an important favor, educate yourself about the risks & MANY symptoms that may occur after a hysterectomy (w/ or w/out ovary removal).  Please don't take this the wrong way, as I'm only trying to help.  If we knew more about your GYN history, it would be easier to give opinions & advice.  AWARENESS IS THE KEY!  Best of luck to you, peace.
