irregular cyst suggestive of haemorrage on tvs

has anyone had a tvs scan suggestive of irregular cyst that has bled into itself. mine can back with a cyst that looks this way. i am going to have my second laporoscopy but i am on a waiting list so i don't think they are suspicious for malignancy. i have had the ca 125 and cea test done and both are ok. me cea was 4 and ca 125 was 11. does anyone have info on this and why do they want to look around again. my last lap was due to an area of the cervix that had some wearing visable. i get lots of clots and pain but not excruciating pain and i do fill up in the belly with gas quite alot. i am 41 and not on the menopause. my last lap reavealed a cyst that they said was ok, now 15months later they think either its the same one or maybe different and now it looks irregular and suggestive of bleeding.

thanks, will keep you posted, did they remove it during the laporoscopy, did it hurt after, could it have been left there or do they have to check for malignancy etc, thanks again, karen x

Hi, welcome to the forum. I just want to let you know that I have a 5.1cm complex cyst (shown on ultrasound) that may or may not be a hemorrhagic cyst....which is when a cyst bleeds into itself. However, I have internal echoes and a septation with vascular mural thickening (not sure what that is exactly)...anyway, these are the things that make my cyst complex. So, I'm right there with ya'....wondering if it is a hemorrhagic cyst or what....This is a good place to be for support or to find answers to your questions....we all do the best we can, when we can. I'm sorry you have to be in this situation, I hope you feel better soon.

Just to let you know 99% of ovarian cysts are benign, so don't forget that.

My scans also showed a hemorrhagic cyst (interpretation) and it was found on lap to be endometriosis cyst (benign, but no fun).  I have had 2 laps before this last one and had a similar cyst leading into those 1st 2 laps.  The first time they missed that cyst and left it in I think b/c it was so much inside the ovary that it appeared to be part of the ovary.  The GYN doing the surgery was less experienced I think and didn't recognize it for what it was?  They got it the 2nd time and it was endo.  In fact this 3rd lap was for an endo cyst in the same ovary.

I was also really scared because my cyst wasn't obviously benign on scans, but things turned out OK.  So hang in there.  Glad you found this site. I found it a few weeks ago and it is the greatest source of info on the net - from patients themselves!

yeah, i just read somewhere down the line, she said the same as me, anyway i feel alot better now, i have actually removed myself from the computer for 5 mins and done the washing up. i get myself in a right state thinking the worst. these things can't be malignant can they? there must be some characteristics that suggest away from that. i was panicing because it mentioned IRREGULAR  as appose to regular. does anyone else have that reported on scan. i think sometimes these type of cysts can look something they are not and thats why they have to look inside. am i right. thanks for the replies, kind regards, karen x

How did they get the cysts out of the ovary? I thought that they would take the whole ovary out?? (I ask because mine is inside the ovary)
Thanks,

i think they just shell out the cyst. this can be done during a laporoscopy.

I lost part of that ovary when they removed that cyst in the ovary, but 2/3 of it was left and it didn't cause problems again for 12 years.  They videotaped it and as much as I could stand watching it looked like they cut into the ovary and removed the cyst and then actually sewed up the ovary again.

Whoa! You got a videotape!? How interesting! (Sorry, I know it's crazy, everyone around my house calls me a freak because I'm so interested in medical stuff.....what's worse is that my best friends/neighbors husband is a surgery resident!! ha,ha makes for some fun conversations!)
Well, If it comes down to surgery for me, it's not gonna' be fun and I don't like the idea of "losing" a part of me but... I hope they will make me a video or at least take pictures! ....Weird huh?, You actually just gave me something about surgery to look forward too....Seeing inside myself!
My husband videotaped my c-section, but then accidently recorded over it, so I never got to see it :-(
Anyway, I will try to post to ya'll later after my f/u today.

My surgeon said he would take pics of everything and show my DH as soon as he was done and then save them for me to see. He (the surgeon) seemed to be excited to share pics...DH may not be able to look at them! He is not a blood and guts kind of guy. No needles, no blood, nothing.   Cindi
