laproscopic surgery with possbilbe hystorectomy>>please help!

Went to the Dr. again last Thursday. He said that he can now feel a fibroid (growth) on my uterus. Scheduled me for laprcopic surgery on Oct. 5th, and sas if he can fix, repair, or remove he will, but if not than he will do a hystorectomy. I am really scared. I don't plan on having any more kids, but I am only 28. I had my tubes tied 7 yrs ago. Anybody ever have this done before. Please help.

Hi, I was also 28 going under surgery for hemmoraging 4 months after my daughter was born because my uterus would not contract back down and they went in to remove my uterus and my cervix , and now i am going for surgery again to have large cyst removed off my ovaries and tested for cancer so if they have to remove your uterus tell them to remove every thing cause down the road you will only end up back under the nife....

Yeah! I am in college, and I work. School said just to give them a call when I can and tell them how I am, work has me scheduled for Fridat, Saturday, and Sunday after. (2 days later) Gues if I feel real bad I will always have Dr. excuse. If just lap I plan to go back, but not the other. Isn't there a hospital stay for a hysto?

thank you! I have heard many people saying that they only had a partial and then had to go back for the rest. Guess if he gives me choice maybe he should just do all and get it over with.

thank you for your help!!

A friend of mine had the surgery to remove a large fibroid.  She was not happy with the repair, and had a hysterectomy within the year.  She was tired of being "ill" and wanted to get on with her life.  She is fine now.

Before your surgery, prepare for an extended recovery time because while the laparascopic surgery recovery requires little 'down time', if you wake up with a hysto then you will be at rest for weeks.
