Ovarian cancer has never entered my mind until today. I'm 30, single, no kids. I have a ob/gyn history of 2 cervical surgeries for pre-cancerous cells; laparoscopy that diagnosed tubal cyst, endometriosis, poly-cystic ovarian syndrome (the Dr. thinks...he said my ovary looked unusual) and removed a ovarian tumor (benign). I've had emergency surgery for what they thought was appendicitis, but turned out to be a ruptured ovarian cyst. I have a history of ovarian cysts (usually large) but they always go away. Anyways, what I'm most concerned about has happened recently. My doctor did a sonogram to see how things looked before he gave me a lupron injection (for my endo.)and noticed there was a lot of blood or fluid in my abdomen. At the time, I felt like my stomach was going to burst. He checked it again about a week later (after my period) and there was less, but there was still fluid in my abdomen. He said not to worry and some people have that. But I never have. I have pelvic pain and discomfort and urinary problems along with terrible bowel problems (which they've said is IBS). My doctor would not be open to me asking to look any further into this. He's just like that. Should I just accept that I have fluid and ignore it or see someone? And who?
