nausea

They say that my mother (age 87) has ovarian cancer -- they are not able to confirm diagnosis because of her heart.  She has persistent nausea and elevated CA 125 (177).  CT showed no visible obstruction and no ascites.

Does anyone know what causes the nausea and terrible abdominal swelling (bloating) in ovarian cancer?

A year ago, she had a "sick stomach" sometimes but not every day....now she has really bad nausea and can really only eat liquid or very soft food.

Ovarian cancer?  Functional small bowel disorder?

thanks

JC is right, we are not Drs, there fore we are not able to diagnose anything. These are very good questions for you to ask your moms Dr.
There are many things that can cause bloating and nausea. And with ovarian cancer, many times the symptoms that finally do show up are due to the tumor (s) pressing on other organs.
Get your mom to a good DR, at least a gyn if not a gyn/onc and have her checked out thoroughly.
  Good luck,

We cannot diagnose this here.  She will need more tests.  This is just too little information.  Good there are no ascites.  Could it be intestinal?
