need info

I have been going through ultrasounds for past 9 mos, now seeing a specialist, he is testing for ovarian cancer, 9 mos ago went to dr with bloating discomfort in belly and bathroom probelms, had a scope done on colon came back fine. Aug 9 am having the  transvaginal done, he said after that will be a Laparotomy. Anyway 2 days ago I experienced incontinence of the other kind, and I want to know if anyone has exprienced that, is that part of ovarian cancer? the whole expierience upset me greatly and right now I don't know what to expect.

What kind of specialist are you seeing?  Are you saying you had urinary incontinence?  If yes, I would call the office and let them know.  Have you had any X-rays done that let them believe that it is ovarian and why did they tell you, that you need a laparotomy?  I did have urinary incontinence as a symptom of my OC.  Good luck

Hi Jeanne... like you, I went back and forth to the Doctor for about 9 months complaining about bloatedness and bowel changes, only to be told that I had IBS, Gastro...anything else but it turned out to be. They checked out my bowel and told me all was clear, but later on a Ct scan told a different story, as I did have ovca and it was outside the bowel. I don't want to scare you, as you could have other problems and not cancer, but I just wanted to alert you to the fact that because the scope says all is fine in the bowel... and it is, as mine was... there could be problems outside of the bowel. They found my cancer from me having a Ct scan, so maybe that could be something that you could look at having? I wish you all the best, and hope it's nothing serious. Please let us know how things go for you. Hugs....Helen...

I think you mean you had a loose stool, but the above posts tell you how it goes,  any bowel change needs to be followed,  I also wonder about  the doctor saying a lap needs to be done, you need more information on this whole thing. Is the specialist an onocologist?  No doctor can diagnose OVCA without going into the belly and then a pathology test must show that. You did not mention a CA 125 blood test, they are not the most accurate , but if there is a cancer growing it just might be a good marker for  you. You also did not tell your age,  it tells us alot if you are pre or post menopause.  You do not mention pain, fatigue, or seeing any cysts/tumors. Perhaps and I certainly hope so you have a benign problem as that can cause these discomforts also. If not satisfied with your doctor , get a second opinion, preferably a gyn/onocol, the TVS should help you and the doctor make a correct decesion.

If it's loose stool, I, too, had lots of bloating and periodic loose stool that became chronic, after every meal..though I had an ulcer...lost too much weight too fast...I would ask for ct scan, don't think TUs are  indepth enough..Also a CA125 along with other blood tests
