my GP had no idea what my U/S results mean, and it can be up to a two month wait to see the Gynecologist (i'm in Northern Canada) I 'm 31, no children with a family history of ovarian, colon, uterine cancer (HNPCC) I had intermittent sharp lower abdominal pain, then it turned into constant ache with sharp pain, pain urinating, pain passing gas, pain deficating. The pain would get worse the longer I stood up and walked around. My GP felt a bulge in my vagina when he did a manual exam. I got a colonoscopy that was clear.
Here is the U/S report
"The ovaries are abnormal. A complex multilocular cystic structure is seen in the left adnexa. The left ovary is grossly normal adjacent to the complex collection. The right ovary is increased in volume measuring 4 x 5 cm increased echogenicity is present internally which may reflect physiologic hemorrhage.
The ovaries are abnormal as described. Increased echogenicity and complex "cystic" change is seen bilaterly."
So how worried should I be about this, should I kick up a fuss to get a quicker appointment with the specialist? What
does "grossly normal" mean?
