I had surgery in Feb. Doc thought I had a complex ovarian cyst, so I had surgery and it turns out that my appendix was wrapped around my ovary and they just removed the appendix. I had been in the hospital in Nov. with severe abdominal pain and was sent home after 4 days because even thought they thought I had appendicitis at first everything calmed down and they thought it was just stomach bug. Needless to say I did have appedicitis and could have died in the 3 months that it took to have the surgery. Yesterday I went to my gyn-(he did the surgery since I was in to have my ovary removed). I now have a cyst on the same ovary. This time it really is a cyst and it is filled with blood. Doc wants to wait a couple of months to see if it will go away, he says that he doesn't think that I'll need surgery but I'm wondering if he's just saying that because I just had surgery and he doesn't want to worry me.
Is this common? And what's the likelyhood that I'm gonna need surgery again? Even though the Doc didn't want to worry me he sure didn't look happy.
