I assume you meant to say the ovarian cyst (tumor) was removed in Dec 2014 not 2013.  The long period may just be your remaining ovary getting used to "taking over" for the one removed. But if bleeding continues for too much longer or becomes heavy and/or with lots of clots, you will want to call your doctor. Good luck to you.

I am sorry you are going through this. There's a good chance you can have a family. I know women who have gotten pregnant with one ovary. Was the tumor non-cancerous? You may want to get a copy of the pathology report so you know the type. Maybe it was just a benign (non-cancerous) ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are common and most are benign. If you develop a cyst on your other ovary and it is benign, you will want to seek out a surgeon who can remove just the cyst (cystectomy) so you can keep your ovary regardless of your age. The ovaries produce hormones into a woman's 80's for good health so they are needed for much more than reproduction (and the uterus also has life long functions - anatomical, skeletal, hormonal, and sexual).

It is good for us to know the details of our health history and advocate for ourselves in all things medical. I have learned that the hard way after my organs were removed for a benign cyst at the age of 49.
