The only person who has the right to imply the knowledge base that you imply is Anna G on the DOCTOR - Patient forum. You see at the end of the day you are only 1 person with 1 persons view, 1 persons perspective and 1 persons experience. Anna G has the experience of many patients, not to mention years of medical training. That it why many personal opinions are benificial NOT JUST YOURS!

Raven is a vetran who has helped many many woman through their journeys and frankly if she suggested a full labotomy i'd be booking it in. Furthermore how dare you remark that your opinions are not "sugar coated" implying that everyone elses are. Alot can be said about me but sugar coated aint one of them, which you will find out if you keep being disrespectful to my f***ing cysters. Im sick of people with big fat lary mouths coming in here throwing their weight about. It scares me that people are going to listen to your drivle rather than the wonderful advice others have to offer. You think we aint researched to our eyeballs.

Oh I cant even be bothered to be articulate just get off your high horse you opinionated bore

Kind regards

Anna x

How dare YOU for posting comments such as you did.  "Bootsy" was frantically seeking advice.  We've all been through many, many different procedures and stresses.  And all of our experiences combined give a multitude of scenarios and solutions. A reader can choose to take the advice or not, but you insult our intelligence by implying that someone will take advice as testament.  This is a "forum"; woman want to be equipped with knowledge of their bodies and no textbook can relay it like first-hand experience.  Just as the woman you quoted as having the ultimate answers, we ALL have been or are in some sort of life-altering experience with our bodies and that is why we are on this "forum." Frankly, I don't even take the "medical" advice of the doctor on this forum as the last word since this doctor has never met us and is just replying as we all are, albeit with medical "expertise" and knowledge. From a personal experience on this forum, I was not happy with a reply to one of my posts, but we all have a right to our own opinions and I just closed the book on that particular post.  It's that easy!

I certainly hope you were just having a bad day when you posted the above reply.  There is no room on this forum for comments such as yours in that particular post.

Although I believe you owe all of us an apology, I, personally, will chalk it up to a bad day you were having because I know all too well how that goes.

However, my heart goes out to you if this is the attitude you walk around with everyday; negativity is so not good for the body and soul.

Best.... Lilly

I don't think Anna was directing her post to Boosty.  Anna is a wonderful woman, full of the joys of life and she makes me laugh.  I love reading her posts.  We had our ops on the same day, in fact we are both from the UK and keep in contact regularly.  She kept me sane.

Many women on this forum have been diagnosed with 3c ovarian cancer.  They had no option in their surgeries and are grateful to be alive.  While I understand fully, as do many others, the need for retaining organs, when faced with a life/death situation there isn't the luxury of mulling over what to keep.  There are many, many good surgeons out there saving lives.

My hope is that one day (and soon), world wide there will be reliable screening programmes, that women with ovarian cancers will be detected at Stage 1A and go on to live without the fear of recurrance.  Awareness is the key.

All the best, Ursula.

I know very well to whom she was posting.  And it was very nasty to say the least.  This woman was merely sharing her experience AS WE ALL ARE. I think we ALL understand that in a situation such as cancer, the only thing to do is get rid of it and anything it may affect.  However, because there is no early detection of this horrible disease, many of us are in the "what is going on" stages and have been for several years.  As I've said before, the symptoms very often are the same for benign and malignant issues. No one, in any way shape or form, is implying to just leave in cancer-ridden organs until a cure comes along; that would be irresponsible.

I am in the beginning process of all of this (about a year into it), and still messing around with doctors that don't know what it is or what to do. My situation is probably benign as are most; I just have extreme pain/cramping/nausea/fatigue, etc., etc., and the doctors are already talking about taking it all out.  I absolutely do not want that, especially when they can't even tell me what it is.  That is why many of my posts involve rallying for early detection so that we CAN differentiate between benign and malignant conditions in the beginning and move forward from there.  This fooling around for years, and God Help Us, only to find oneself in stage III OVCA is not a credit to the medical field - it's pathetic in this day and age.

So let's just focus on helping people who ask for true life experiences and opinions on this forum and also try to do some good by coming together to rally for EARLY DETECTION and DIFFERENTIATION.

Knock off all the negativity, stop being nasty, and let's help one another!

My Best........ Lilly

This is all senseless!S-13 does have knowledge, and I believe she knows what she is talking about, she isnt trying to diagnosis anyone, she has been great support to me and offered great advice, and for anyone to imply otherwise is just rude, keep your negative opinions to yourself, none of us need this, were all here for one thing, were scared, and need advice!
Now lets keep this thread open just for bootsy!

I believe that this forum has gotten out of control by some postings that have had a very negative affect. Deriding each other and the medical field is childish and not helpful to those that come here for info. When a new poster comes to the forum, he/she should be listened too first, then , answered by someone that has been there, done that. As with all human illnesses, each person is totaly different. One shoe does not fit all. To be well informed about the changes that happen when faced with reproductive problems is necessary, but to frighten an already scared person is  irresponsible. The debate as to keeping organs intact is not a deceasion that can be decided on here. We do not diagnose, treat, do the surgery, perscribe the meds, that is up to the medical field still. Our responses here should be considered as opinions, suggestions as to what has worked for us, and basic moral support for a frightened person. To proscibe yourself as an expert in this field when you have no crerdentials is irresponsible also. I post things that I have researched and my daughter either has tried and "might" try, but first and formost we follow her Onocologists orders, he is the expert. But as you can tell this really is all a big guessing game most of the time. Cancer in any form is a very dirty business and until they get that mircle cure we just have to support, support, support. My daughter is the most positive person and has a great attitude. I am certainly glad it is me reading some of these posts and not her. I want to thank the positive posters here, I have had a text book version of the field of reprodutive cancer. I have considered my research suggestions as helpful, but if they offended anyone I am truly sorry.

woa, woa ladies. first of all, i would like to thank you all for giving me your opinions. i am well aware that when you come to this website, you are just seeking for nothing but OPNINIONS and advices from people who may have experienced it . ofcourse, everyones opinions will be different. thats where my judgement will come on. although, i pick and choose on what i wanna believe, i dont take all comments in consideration and it makes me more aware of my situation. lets be positive and understand that we all can have our opinions. maybe these darn cysts have made some of us more tired and bitter tbroughout the years. but bottom line is we all have a warm and carying heart which is why were all here trying to help and seek advice before we go further into our procedures. again, thank you alll from the bottom of my heart for ALL of your differnt types of opinions. :)
