facing ovarian surgery

I will be having my ovaries removed the end of April.  Large complex cyst.  At the same time the doctor wants to have a plastic surgeon remove the excess belly skin I have.  That could be a bonus.  I am just concerned with recovery time with this extra surgery included.   Has anyone else had this?  The doctor said that it will make her part of the surgery easier.

Welcome to the site.  My right ovary and 90% of my left ovary was removed 12/21/05. You should be fine.  Since you are having both done at the same time, you will only have 1 recovery!  By your name, did you have a transplant?  Just curious.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thanks for all your reply's.  I am waiting for a transplant but because of donor organ shortage the Dr. told me that they are only doing the people who are very ill.  Fortunately, I have been stable for almost three years now.  They feel that they have to deal with this cyst now, though.  I hate to say that the tummy "tuck" thing will not help improve my shape much.  Weight control has been a long time problem for me.  The only good thing I could say before I was diagnosed with liver failure is that I lost 50lbs.  This was in about 3 months and I did not feel good at all.
I'll take any improvement in the tummy area I can get, though.  I am waiting to hear about an appointment with the plastic surgeon and If OHIP will pay for it. (I live in Ontario so OHIP is our provincial health care plan)
Thanks for the answers and support.
