postmenopausal cyst and more symptoms

I'm 46, went through early menopause 7 years ago. 3 months ago I started having clear, mucous, then bleeding. Also have gained in abdominal size (very unusual for me), gas, bloating, pelvic cramping and the occasional sharp pain that will stop me in my tracks then dissapear. Had an ultrasound, found a polyp and slight thickening of lining (4.5 Not on HRT) and a small cyst on my ovary. Dr doesn't say a lot. I had a lot of blood work done, 11 tubes, named off a bunch of tests I had never heard of and said I failed them all but one (thyroid). Also something called Lupus Anticoagulant. Put me on Combipatch 50/140, Symptoms have continued and getting worse. He has not mentioned the big C, but I'm having hysteroscopy done in 2 weeks. He was on vacation for a week so I had to wait. Anyone out there have anything remotely close to what I have described. The not knowing is driving me CRAZY!!!

Thank You for your advice. The pain is not so bad and since I have my hysteroscopy next Friday I may wait. I do have a pre op consult this Friday and I am going to ask him more about the ovarian cyst he found on the ultrasound. I have read that post menopausal should not have functional cysts, so what is mine and how big is small. I'm also going to find out if one of the blood test was a CA125. If he didn't do one should I request it?? I don't know if I am concidered high risk as I was adopted and do not know my ancestral history. I have also read (this internet info can make you a hypocondriac) that any postmenopausal ovarian cyst should be tested. Please give me your thoughts.

The not knowing and the waiting is the hardest part.  I would suggest that if you are not feeling well and symptoms are getting worse, why not go the the emergency room...they will at least do a sonogram if  you have pelvic pain and you will know if there is a change in the cyst.  I do not know anything about thickening of the uterus....can you call and question the doctor?  We have all learned that you have to be an adovcate for your own health, that means asking questions and wanting answers, no matter if something is wrong or not, it is important that you have a dialogue with your doctor, all of your doctors.

Let us know how you are feeling and how the test goes.
