pre cancer cells after cystectomy

Im 31 yrs old and had an ovarian cyst (corpus luteum) cyst removed just over a week ago. According to my doctor (specialist gynaecologist) what she removed and the fluid corresponded with a benign cyst but the pathology reports showed that there was precancerous cells present. My dr said that the results didnt make sense to her. She said she would have to remove the ovary because this is how cancer can start. I had been experiencing bladder pressure before the cyst was removed and the pain is still remaining after. On the ultrasound she saw some fluid in my stomach. She said she wanted to wait 6 weeks and see if the pain/fluid clears up first. I think I read something about mucinous fluid on the report but not sure now as I was in too much shock to even focus. I still want to pregnant so this is very hard for me to digest still. Can anyone please give me advice or tell me what it would mean if there is pre cancer cells? Does it mean I am going to have to have a full hysterectomy? Is it advisable to wait 6 weeks? Will it not spread in that time?

Many women have a 45 ca 125 with out cancer. Mine is 500 and I have no reproductive organs. Having any reproductive organs can cause a false positive. Six weeks is not going to make a difference. The precancer means they have to watch. It may never go any further. What you have to ask is what percentage do I have of this going to cancer. I have an 90% of breast cancer and I have learned to not worry about it. Besides if it goes into cancer they will catch it early. With me I went to the doctor for 6 years and no one listened to me until I was full of cancer. At least that will not happen to you.

My only concern is that I am not with a gynaecologist oncologist.  I dont feel like I am ready to see one yet.  They phoned me yesterday to tell me to go for the C125 test. I was so nervous.  I did not sleep at all from the anxiety.  I phoned them today to ask if they have gotten the results and then my doctor said she will speak to me.  SHe said that the C125 is 45.  She said its a bit high but its not that much of a concern yet as it can be high due to surgery? Can that be true?  I have had some horrible after effects from the surgery.  Its been a week and I still feel the gas pains in my shoulders and upper body.  She said she still wants to wait 6 weeks and then I must test C125 again.  I asked her about the cyst and she said it was a MUCINOUS CYSTEDOMA OR ADENOMA (cannot remember now) She said that the pathology would not have made an error.  She kept saying that its not yet cancer, only precancer but we need to follow up to makes sure it doesnt progress and if it does then we need to go back into surgery and do some more clearing.  She said the precancerours fluid came from the cyst and not the ovary and that the cyst was inside the ovary (i thought it was on top of the ovary).  I have been getting some lower back pain too for the last couple of days but I had an hysteroscopy (check that tubes are open) during surgery too and tomorrow would be when my period would have been due so I am not sure if that is the cause.  My left side where the cyst was removed is also very tender inside as well as towards the groin (dont know if my period is due if that would intensify pain).  My doctor is pro-fertility and I told her that as much as I want to carry on to have a baby i need to put my health first and if that means having to remove an ovary then I am okay with that.  I am scared to go onto fertility meds to make eggs as I think that that is the cause of my possible cancer.  I dont respond well to fertility meds and it makes my follicle very big in size. So I am reluctant to try something like that again.  I still have a right ovary but i am scared to rely on it because its the side where I had my ectopic.  I am afraid that if i do fall pregnant from that ovary then it could end up ectopic again and I am scared it could lead to me losing that ovary too.  I dont want to go into early menopause and I think that may happen if dont have ovaries.  My doctor agrees with that as she also specializes in menopause.  My husband and i have discussed donor eggs maybe but im not sure of the cost (i think it could be expensive though)...

Do you think that waiting the 6 weeks like my doctor said is a wise thing?  I dont want to cause more harm but she said that she removed the cyst so it would not spread anywhere else.

And

Is it possible for one to have a Mucinous cystedoma and not remove that ovary?  I am still concerned about my c125 level though

You can have eggs harvested before you lose your ovary. You do not have to rush into losing an ovary. In our area we have a medical practice of gyn/oncologist who specialize in fertility. They did a survey of general gyn/oncologists about saving women's fertility and only 20% say they consider it. It takes too much time for them. If it is important to you get the right doctor. You are most likely going to have a normal life so you should have children.

The pain could be scar tissue or it could be from another source. I had lower left abdominal pain. I had my gall bladder out and a hysterectomy and I still have the pain. I would not jump to cancer.  The blood test is the ca 125. Your doctor is thorough. There can be false positives so I would not worry if it is higher. For some women it is not accurate.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I really do appreciate it. My doctor phoned this morning to let me know that she wants me to get a blood test taken. i think its the C125 test? I just have one concern. If the cyst was removed (it was 35mm) why would I still be having the same symptoms as before? low pelvic pressure, bladder pressure, low back pain, free fluid in pelvis. My dr is trying to preserve my ovary but obviously if its detrimental to my health I would have to remove it

I know it is scary. Precancerous just means there is a possibility the cells could turn into cancer not that they are cancer. Sounds like your doctor is looking out. You might see a gyn/oncologist but make sure it is one who is into fertility if you want children. They are not only for cancer but more complex cases. Many gyn/oncologist do not care about fertility they just want to take everything out. If you want kids do not be rushed into a hysterectomy. You have plenty of time and can get second opiions. Even if someone is full of cancer, which you are probably not these decisions do not to be rushed. I wish I had gotten a second opinion. I was scared and went with my first gyn/oncologist and he was a jerk.
